Verizon acquires AOL
Verizon’s acquisition of AOL is complete. The $4.4 billion deal is seen as a way for Verizon to enter the growing wireless entertainment and advertising markets, which are growing as video consumers shift their viewing habits away from traditional programming.
As Speed Mattersnoted in the past, the deal is yet another sign that wireless video streaming is the wave of the future, and that Verizon wants to be at the forefront in this sector.
