Pew: Internet Video Viewership Reaches Record Levels
A poll of American online viewership habits from the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that seven in ten Internet users have watched or downloaded online video.
The poll results reveal a dramatic increase in viewership across all surveyed categories, including movies and educational, comedy and political programming. The survey indicates that young Internet users between 18 and 29 view the most videos online.
Among other factors, the survey attributes the growth in viewership to the increasing availability of broadband, the wide use of social networking and video-sharing sites, and the addition of video features on many websites.
