NCLR, BBOC, and One Economy Closing the Digital Divide in Hispanic Communities

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the Broadband Opportunity Coalition (BBOC), and Speed Matters' partner One Economy are working together to close the 14-percentage point gap in home broadband adoption between White and Hispanic households.

In April 2010, One Economy and the BBOC were awarded an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant to facilitate increased adoption. Together with private sector partnerships, NCLR is launching an awareness campaign aimed at 20 million Hispanic Americans.

Janet Muguia, NCLR President and CEO:

"Together, the BBOC and One Economy are fortifying our communities with the knowledge and resources they need to improve their lives...Our Coalition's focus on youth and engagement with community-based nonprofits will ensure that our initiatives reach out to those who need it the most."
