PA regulators turn down Verizon's attempt to block copper plant investigation

This week the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission (PUC) cleared the way for an investigation into the condition of Verizon’s copper plant. The Communications Workers of America (CWA) and Verizon will present evidence before an Administrative Law Judge, who has scheduled a prehearing conference for May 26. The CWA complaint is supported by other interested groups, including AARP and Pennsylvania Working Families.

The PA PUC recentlyannounced that it would hold hearings into the unsafe conditions at Verizon locations throughout the state, following a Communications Workers of America (CWA) petition thatdetailed hundreds of dangerous locations across 13 counties.
