CWA?s FCC filing asks that IP transition focus on jobs

On January 23, CWA filed an ex parte notice with the FCC regarding the upcoming IP Transition trials order. CWA emphasized “... the importance of data collection regarding the employment impact of the IP Transition trials.”

And CWA said, “The data will help ensure that employees can transition to the work on IP networks, and keep quality telecom jobs in the United States.”

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights added their own ex parte filing. In it, co-chair of the LCCHR Media and Telecommunications Task Force, Cheryl Leanza, said:

“We strongly encouraged the Commission staff to ensure that any proposed trial would collect independently verified data on communities of color, women, low-income people, people with disabilities, and the other constituencies that The Leadership Conference represents.”
