Backers of Telemedicine circulate draft House bill

A draft bill introduced by Representatives Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (R-PA) and Mike Thompson (D-CA) would, if passed, increase funding for telemedicine. The bill appears to have the support of a new lobbying group, the Alliance for Connected Care.

The tentatively named Medicare Telehealth Parity Act provides for a gradual – rather than immediate – expansion of funded telemedicine, through a number of different technologies and telemedicine sites. The goal of the bill is to cover telehealth services on a Medicare parity with in-person coverage.
