A New Voice on Broadband and Social Justice

We all know broadband access is an important factor for success in today's digitally enabled world. Broadband is an engine for economic growth, civic engagement and a better way of life. Without broadband, a world of opportunities is simply out of reach.

That is why broadband access is increasingly a social justice issue and has become a basic human right. Recently, a timely new blog, Broadband & Social Justice, has come forward to highlight this issue and push it further into the public discourse.

In one of its first posts, the blog points out the complete absence of broadband Internet in Puerto Rico. The author lays out a roadmap to spur investment in broadband infrastructure in Puerto Rico and provide the island's four million residents with a high-speed onramp to the information superhighway.

In the coming days and months Broadband & Social Justice will feature ongoing discussions on broadband accessibility and bridging America's digital divide.
